Timmy Thomas is a musician, singer and song writer, whose signature recording is “Why Can't We Live Together". He was born in Evansville, Indiana, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee in the 1960s as a session musician. By 1972 he had relocated to Miami Florida and his recording “Why Can't We Live Together" was released on Glades records. The song was recorded in one take and featured Timmy Thomas singing and playing the keyboards without any other musicians. This was a big hit and went up to No. 1 on the R&B charts. Glades released his freshmen album that year and named after his first big hit. They followed that up with his sophomore album You're the Song I've Always Wanted to Sing in 1974. The third LP released by Timmy Thomas was titled The Magician in 1976 and then in 1977 the LP Touch to Touch album was released.
